Even though I unfortunately don't know Spanish, babelfish.altavista.com helped me understand it. What would be great for the WNDW project would be if you could describe some of the projects that you know about, and make entries for them in the Case Studies section of the Wiki. I am working on the city wide Cambridge, MA free public wireless network. It is a community wireless network created through a partnership with Harvard, MIT, Boston Museum of Science, and the city of Cambridge. We are using the same netgear WGT634Us that Yahel is using in Dharamsala. But instead of using OLSR (Optimized Link State Routing Protocol) we are using Roofnet a mesh protocol developed at MIT. (http://pdos.csail.mit.edu/roofnet/doku.php?id=wgt634u) We are doing a lot of things Yahel is doing. Without the extra USB wifi dongle the WGT634U only eats 2W of power. Even in the middle of a New England winter we should still be able to power the access points with solar power. In fact in Massachusetts there might be a tax credit of $500.00 for the purchase of solar powered equipment/ devices. Does anyone know? Yahel, I was curious about your experience with the USB wifi dongles, and compiling support into Kamikaze. May I contact you off list? Also, if anyone else is working on Mesh networking with OpenWrt and WGT634Us please feel free to jump in, or get in touch with me. If anyone is in the Boston/Cambridge MA area July 12th Ill be hosting a Wifi meetup on the Cambridge wireless network. But I think the damage is done; unless we change the list address, it has already been picked up by the spam dudes. It's funny you should mention that now. On the filtering side, I've been testing SpamAssassin on my personal account since last friday. It looks pretty good so far; I intend to make it a site-wide policy in a week or so. So far I've had 0 false positives and less than 5% false negatives (so overall a 95% or so reduction in spam with no side effects...) I just want to give it a little more testing before I throw the switch. --Rob On Jul 17, 2006, at 3:29 PM, Jim Forster wrote: > Hi folks, > > Someone once showed me a small trick to reduce email address > harvesting from web sites. Here's what I use: I keep my JS functions in a file jsfuncs.js // JavaScript Functions function jsmail(user, domain, suffix){ document.write('' + user + '@' + domain + '.' + suffix + ''); } Then in the html I put two entries - at the top to load the file, then where I want to call the function. I use noscript to show the graphic where people have not JS enabled.
